| L4D2 Hax! Last updated:30/10/2009 7:50pm Today, we bring you first tutorial to allow Australian users to play L4D2 the way it should be played. Complete with: - Non-fading bodies (now you can tell if you actually killed that hunter) - Zombie dismemberment (3 cheers for ragdoll physics!) - Artistic blood sprays (hey if carmageddon could have them why can't we?) OK OK WE GET IT NOW HOW DO WE MAKE IT WORK! Note this method currently only works for: a) Single player mode or b) Multiplayer if you host the game server or c) Multiplayer if the server has "sv_pure 0" set Instructions: care of WWW.GROWUPAUSTRALIA.COM 1. Navigate to C:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2 2. open steam_appid.exe and change the "550" to "510" and save. 3. right click steam_appid.exe > properties and make read only. (this is found at the bottom of the properties window) 4. navigate to C:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2 5. Look for gameinfo.txt 6. under SteamAppId change "550" to "510" and save 7. do the same to make gameinfo.txt read only (see 3) 8. go back one folder (C:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2) and right click left4dead2.exe and send to > make shortcut on desktop. DO NOT RUN THE GAME THROUGH STEAM. The shortcut on your desktop runs the uncensored version. To play online, you will have to join a server that has sv_pure 0, or have two text documents in circulation that can revert to "pansy mode" for seamless online play I am sad to say we didn't come up with this hack, but will hopefully be able to use this to supply a full *all games* hack later on. New: How to purchase L4D2 from the UK Steam store 1. head to http://store.steampowered.com/?cc=uk 2. select the item you want to buy (if you've gone to the right store the price should show up in pounds) 3. login to your account (to continue with the payment) 4. All details in the left hand side column (your billing details) should be accurate! 5. details on the right should all be accurate except for the country which you MUST set to United Kingdom. 6.
